Since 2022, we have been producing trench candles for the military.
They are a vital source of heat, light, and cooking for soldiers in the field, especially in winter. They are widely used by Ukrainian volunteers to support the defenders.
Trench candles are simple but extremely useful sources of heat and light that can be made by hand.
They provide a reliable source of light and heat in trenches, dugouts, and other field conditions.
They can be used to heat water, reheat food, or even dry wet things.
Depending on the size of the jar and the amount of filler, the candle can burn for 3 to 8 hours.
Such candles are not afraid of wind and moisture, they are not easily extinguished, which makes them ideal for use on the front line.
They do not have a high flame, easily fit in a pocket, and can be used repeatedly.
The cost of one candle (materials, electricity, labor) costs us 2 euros.
We buy the material with donations and our own funds, and a group of courageous grandfathers who are in the social center “House of Mercy Kyiv” make them. Then we give the candles to the Ukrainian military.
This season we plan to make 1000 candles.
